Interesting case this. Legal liability in sport is an interesting subject and there is an issue about seriousness of injury and negligence. On one hand an injury must be sufficiently serious to properly warrant negligence (or even an offence against the person), but on the other hand can the seriousness of the injury really be a proper indicator of how bad a tackle was? The type of tackle that Taylor did happens every week in the premier league without usually causing this type of injury so why should he be punished moreso?
