FA rejects bid for new Taylor ban
BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Birmingham City | FA rejects bid for new Taylor ban
Interesting case this. Legal liability in sport is an interesting subject and there is an issue about seriousness of injury and negligence. On one hand an injury must be sufficiently serious to properly warrant negligence (or even an offence against the person), but on the other hand can the seriousness of the injury really be a proper indicator of how bad a tackle was? The type of tackle that Taylor did happens every week in the premier league without usually causing this type of injury so why should he be punished moreso?

Mills - McCartney judgement
Summary of Mills-McCartney judgment | UK news | guardian.co.uk
The judgment in the Mills McCartney v McCartney has been published following the respondent's failure to win an appeal regarding its non public disclosure this morning. Media reaction so far is painting a picture slightly removed from reality (shock horror) in terms of his derision of Heather Mills, but I am reliably informed that some of Mr Justice Bennett's phrases used to describe her would be highly unusual in such a judgement. The full text is linked below, enjoy.
